Ladies from three care homes in London were treated to a sophisticated ladies lunch event held at Eltham College in Mottingham, London.
Hayley Mercer, Personal Activities Leader from Marlborough Court Care Home, said: “The ladies had a lovely time. They indulged in lots of lovely sandwiches, cream cakes, tea and coffee. The students who hosted the event provided the entertainment by singing and holding a little quiz. The ladies really enjoyed socialising with each other, as it’s not every day they get to come together. I know when the Marlborough Court ladies returned to the home, they told everyone what had gone on. I think some of the gents were secretly jealous.
“For residents going out and socialising makes them feel like they still have their independence, which helps them to continue to blossom at the homes. A lot of people have said to me, ‘I thought I’d just have been left in a corner bored’, and have been surprised when I’ve said what we do here not only at Marlborough Court, but across the Four Seasons network to ensure our residents are fulfilled.
“Everyone is looking forward to the next joint event that we hold.”
