Triangle Care Home in Wheatley welcomed some very special visitors as part of their Care Home Open Day celebrations.
Sue Davies, Home Manager, explained: “The main objective of Care Home Open Day is to encourage the local community into our home. We were visited by a group of local children and a lovely Shetland pony, who certainly got a lot of attention from residents, visitors and the team alike. The day was a great success, with the residents continuing to talk about the pony even after it had departed.
Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. Events like the one at Triangle Care Home will help to create lasting links between the residents and their local community.
Care Home Open Day is all about showing people what care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of the local community, developing relationships across the generations.
