Westroyd Residents indulge in pet therapy session

Visits from all types of creatures can have a calming effect on people. Whether you cuddle a furry animal or get up close and personal with some exotic creatures your stresses just ebb away.

In Westroyd House Care Home in Shepshed, residents have been getting hands on with a variety of animals as part of their pet therapy programme.

The residents got up close and personal to dogs, rabbits and owls.

Barbara Blakemore, Personal Activities Leader, said: “The residents had a great time with the animals. Some of their loved ones, especially the children really enjoyed playing with the dogs. We’ll definitely be arranging more visits like this in the future.”
