Back in December we brought you news that Campsie View Care Home in Glasgow was taking part in a Christmas present drive so no one in their area would feel alone this Christmas.
The aim of the present drive was to ensure that no elderly person in the Kirkintilloch area went without a Christmas present to open on the big day. The home was inundated with presents from the local community with just under 70 gifts being donated to the cause.
Katy Jenks, Home Manager, said: “I want to thank everyone who helped us with this project. Santa delivered 22 presents to elderly people in our local community, whilst another 45 went to a local homeless charity. Everyone’s donations were amazing. As a result of everyone’s generosity, we’re hoping to make this drive an annual event o no one feels alone at Christmas.”
Victor Dewson, Regional Manager for Four Seasons for Glasgow and Clyde, said: “I am very proud of the team, residents and relatives at Campsie View who donated all of the lovely gifts that have now been delivered by Santa and his elves. I also want to echo Katy’s sentiments and thank the local community for also getting involved. It’s great to see that Christmas spirit is alive and well.”
