Two Aberdeenshire care homes have achieved high overall performance ratings in a national survey of people living in care homes.
Havencourt Care Home in Stonehaven has achieved a 97% overall performance rating, while Laurels Lodge, in Woodside scored 94%, in the survey conducted by leading market research organisation Ipsos Mori for “Your Care Rating”.
The overall performance rating is derived from four core themes: staff and care, home comforts, choice and having a say and the quality of life being experienced by the residents.
Both Havencourt and Laurels Lodge, which are operated by Four Seasons Health Care, scored the maximum possible of 100% for residents saying they are happy with their life in the homes.
Havencourt scored just over 98% and Laurels Lodge scored 97% around the theme of the quality of life for people living in the homes.
The two homes each achieved the maximum possible 100% rating for being safe and secure and for the care team treating residents with kindness, dignity and respect. All respondents in both homes said that the care teams understand them as an individual, are sensitive to how they are feeling and are capable of providing the care they need.
Both homes scored 100% for the choice of meals offered and 100% for offering activities for residents to take part in if they want.
John Kirk, Managing Director for Four Seasons Health Care in Scotland, who run the homes, said: "Both care teams are delighted that in this independent national survey the residents at Havencourt and Laurels Lodge rated the homes so highly.
"The survey outcome corresponds with the responses we have had directly from residents, their relatives and care professionals who are able to give us instant feedback on a day to day basis about any aspect of care quality, by using iPads placed in the home with a touch-screen questionnaire linked to purpose designed software. This has been recording a 100% overall customer satisfaction rating for Havencourt and 98% for Laurels Lodge Care Home.”
