Southfield Court Care Home in Huddersfield welcomed 14 students from Kirklees College who came in to spend some quality time with the residents.
Sarah Furch, Acting Home Manager, said: “It was lovely to see the generation gap being bridged between the students and the residents. Both groups took part in a number of activities before taking time out with a cup of tea to find out more about each other. I think the shocking thing is that both the students and the residents realised that they had quite a few things in common.
“This was such a huge success, that we’ll be bringing the students in on a regular basis to continue building a relationship with the residents.”
