Animals have a calming effect on people. Whether you settle down and pet your cat or dog, cuddle a guinea pig or rabbit, your stresses just ebb away as you relax.
Care Homes can take advantage of Pet Therapy, which enables residents to get up close and personal with a domestic animal or something much more exotic.
At Sunbridge Home in Edmonton residents, relatives and the care team welcomed Zoya in for some eagerly anticipated cuddles and play time.
Deepak Luckhun, Home Manager, said: “Everyone loved getting cuddles off Zoya. One of our residents even let her wear his flat cap! Many of our residents had pets when they lived in their own homes, so Zoya brought back some very fond memories for them.”
