We had four nominations at the prestigious awards including Daniel Oliveira from Bangor Care Home was shortlisted for the Nurse of the Year category, and Domnall Intermediate Care Centre being shortlisted for Care Home of the Year.
Although we were unsuccessful in those two categories, the two finalists became award winners in our other two categories.
Leanna Bonar, Home Manager at Domnall Intermediate Care Centre, was highly commended in the Practice Manager Category and Karen Miller who won the Prescribing Pharmacists Award, both brought the awards back to Domnall.
Alana Irvine, Regional Manager for Four Seasons in the Strangford Lough & SE area, said: “I’m very proud of everyone who was nominated for these awards. They all work extremely hard to make a difference and provide the best care for the residents in their homes. It’s great to see Four Seasons Health Care celebrated at awards like this. Songs from the golden old days could be heard throughout Marlborough Court Care Home in Thamesmead as the home was treated to some live music.
Hayley Mercer, Personal Activities Leader, said: “The residents really enjoyed their audience with the Royal Albert Hall. As well as singing along, the residents got to reminisce on the golden era, looking at old photos of singers they used to listen to when they were younger. Residents at Flower Park Care Home in Doncaster enjoyed a trip back in time as they visited the Hot Chocolate Lounge for a vintage tea party.
Amanda Searle, Home Manager, told us: “It was a very sophisticated affair. The residents enjoyed cups of tea out of real china mugs, and lovely slices of cake. There was singing and dancing for everyone to enjoy, and the fact the residents could socialise with their friends from the local community made the event a big hit.”
