Residents from Campsie View Care Home in Glasgow took part in their local Race for Life event raising money for Cancer Research.

Katy Jenks, Home Manager, said: “The residents wanted to take part in the event to do their bit in the fight against cancer. They did an amazing job and did us all proud. Agnes, Georgina and Moria’s achievement goes to show that living in a care home doesn’t stop you doing whatever you want to do.”

Residents from Hesslewood House Care Home in Hessle put their best game faces in as they took on a number of other teams in their Regional Care Home Games.

Kate Wilson, Home Manager, said: “The residents enjoyed taking part in the Regional Care Home Games, which are a regular occurrence here. Our residents had a great time and even made it all the way to the final. A team is already being pulled together for next year’s games.”

Residents from Windsor House care Home in Cannock took a step back in time as they visited the transport exhibit at the Museum of Cannock Chase.

Kerry Craddock, Home Manager, said: “Providing activities and special experiences for our residents is at the heart of what we do here at Four Seasons. We like to give our residents something to look forward to and talk about in the weeks to come.The Museum trip is just one of the recent activities we’ve done.

Once at the museum they looked at the vintage transport and how it has evolved over the years. Some of the residents even pointed out the cars that they first owned. They couldn’t have been more different to their modern counterparts.”

Havencourt-Care-Home-Stonehaven-Aberdeen-FC-Fans-May-2017

Hendry and Alex, two residents at Havencourt Care Home in Stonehaven have been avid Aberdeen FC fans since they were youngsters.

Imagine their surprise when they found that that team member Ann-Marie was a season ticket holder at the Pittodrie.

Rhona McGregor, Home Manager, said: “When Hendry and Alex found out about Ann-Marie, all they wanted to do was talk football. Ann-Marie contacted the management at the stadium and explained the situation to them. They then sent the two gents a signed notebook each which featured all of the current players’ autographs. Hendry and Alex are now planning their trip to the Pittodrie to watch their beloved Aberdeen FC. Dreams can come true here at Havencourt.”

Mahon-Hall-Care-Home-Portadown-Princes-Trust-May-2017

Mahon Hall Care Home in Portadown put out a call for help to create a garden paradise for the residents.

Youngsters from the local Prince’s Trust answered the call, and helped the maintenance man transform the garden.

Cheryl King, Home Manager, said: “The young people have been really busy. They’ve tidied up the gardens, weeded, planted, painted the fence, all of which now looks fantastic.

“The young people built up such a fantastic rapport with the residents that they’ve decided they’re going to visit on a regular basis and challenge the residents to various different games. It’s great to see a project like this has helped to bridge the gap between the generations.”
