Care Home Open Day is celebrated each year by care homes across the country. It aims to encourage stronger relationships between care homes and the local community and provides a chance for people to see what life inside a home is really like.
Two local councillors, Councillor Harry Cartmill and Councillor Charles Kennedy were amongst the first visitors, and enjoyed chatting to residents and hearing about daily life in the home.
It was also a good opportunity to highlight the home's current fundraising activity to buy an OMI Sensory Mat for the home. The product was demonstrated throughout the day, with users impressed by its functions and potential to benefit residents' communication, coordination and general wellbeing.
Children from nearby Rainbow Nursery also joined residents, and their happy chatter and interaction with residents drew lots of smiles.
