Everyone at The Lodge Care Home in Killamarsh is delighted to see two members of the Care Team, Rachel Oldale (Deputy Manager) and Rebecca Gregory (Team Leader) successfully complete their training to become Care Home Assistant Practitioners (CHAPs).
This important hands-on role combines caring duties with an extended range of clinical skills, supporting nurses to deliver the best care to residents.
Skills such as administering medication, taking blood pressure, simple wound dressings and putting care plans into practice are all developed as part of the CHAP programme, and once qualified, CHAPs are regarded as a key link between nursing and care teams.
Home Manager Janet McVeigh said:
"I am very proud of them both and their achievements. They are a credit to themselves the home and the company. I especially feel proud as they have both developed within the home from both starting here at the Lodge as new carers. Their achievements are helping significantly with the overall successes achieved within the home and its continued development. Well done Rachel and Becky as you continue on your development journey with us!"
