Aarondale Care Home in Chorley recently held a Dementia Awareness Party and had a lovely busy day with events and activities for residents and their families going on throughout the day.
There were arts and crafts, a visit from the ice cream van, fabulous entertainment from a local singer - who had everyone singing and dancing - and pet therapy with horses from a nearby farm.
The day also aimed to raise awareness and understanding of dementia and to that end people from the community were invited to take part in the Four Seasons Dementia Experience and participate in a modified food tasting session.
Staff also took the opportunity to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Society, with all the team wearing Alzheimer’s Society T-shirts to help spread the word.
It was a great day packed full of entertainment and information, and everyone who took part had a fantastic time.
