Gardening Club get busy in Durham

The Gardening club at Hallgarth Care Home in Durham have been very busy planting Begonias and Petunias to bring a bit of colour into the home.

The residents have also sown the seeds in anticipation of this year’s pumpkin competition against entertainer Colin Summer.

Angela Muir, Home Manager, explained: “Our gardening club are always full of ideas when it comes to gardening. They all helped plant the seedlings and are encouraging them to grow by talking to them and letting them listen to the radio. All this care and attention is also going to our pumpkin seeds, so they grow big and strong ready for the seventh annual pumpkin competition. Keep growing little seedlings!”
