Hallgarth unveils Tree of Hearts

In preparation for their special Valentine's Concert, decorations have started to go up at Hallgarth Care Home in Durham, and in pride of place is the Tree of Hearts, planned and painted in Hallgarth Art Club.

This is no ordinary tree as it grew from thoughts and discussions about love, friendship and marriage. The rings in the trunk symbolise eternity, while the roots represent support and stability, the branches the arms to hold and the hearts to show love, and how it can be found in everything.

It was great to have the assistance of students from Grey College, who visited to help with the project and who were a pleasure - as always - to have in the home.
