Residents at Dounemount Care Home in Macduff celebrated the arrival of the autumnal season with a delicious, harvest breakfast. Everyone enjoyed bowls of warm, comforting soup, and shared stories from their younger years.
Many of the residents grew up in the farming and fishing community, and helped with the harvest every year. The ‘tattie holidays’, where pupils would help farmers during the annual potato harvest, was a big community event, with everyone working together to bring in the harvest.
For the residents at Dounemount, celebrating this season brings back many precious memories and holds a very special meaning.
