Harvest poems at Hallgarth

Here at Hallgarth Care Home we have a poetry club and this week we decided to celebrate Harvest Festival in verse.

As well as reading aloud autumnal favourites like ‘To Autumn’ by John Keats and ‘Autumn Song’ by W. H. Auden, our resident Doreen brought along a lovely poem by George Cooper that she learnt at school.

“Come, little leaves,” said the wind one day,

“Come o'er the meadows with me and play;

Put on your dresses of red and gold,

For summer is gone and the days grow cold.”

Hallgarth Care Home is located in Durham and provides Residential Care, Nursing Care, Respite Care, Palliative Care and Intermediate Care.
