Residents from Hallgarth Care Home in Durham have enjoyed lots of different musical entertainment over the past couple of weeks.
Firstly they were invited to St Oswald’s Church Hall for a get together organised by the student community association. After tea, cake and a good old chat with everyone, the students serenaded the group with a variety of songs, including some festive hits.
Back at the home, everyone enjoyed an afternoon of Rock and Roll, with hits from the 50s and 60s courtesy of Buddy Silver and the Reverbz. David, a guitarist in the band is the son of resident Sheila who always sits pride of place in the front row when the band are in.
Elizabeth, a Hallgarth resident, said: “My husband and I could rock and roll with the best of them, I didn’t think I would remember so many songs but in knew them all. There’s life in the old rockers yet!”
