Oak Tree's Bailey named CHAP of the Year 2019

Bailey Thompson, Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP) at Oak Tree Care Home in Yate, Bristol has been crowned Care Home Assistant Practitioner of the Year at the national Four Seasons Care Awards, which took place last week in Birmingham.

Bailey was commended on the way she has developed her skills and taken on new responsibilities to support the Registered Nurses at Oak Tree Care Home.

Following over 1,300 nominations, Bailey was shortlisted with four other colleagues from over 250 Four Seasons Care Homes across the UK.

Amanda Cunningham, Chief Operating Officer for Four Seasons Health Care presented Bailey with the award and said:

“Bailey started her journey in care by looking after her grandmother, and as a result was inspired to become a Care Assistant straight from school. Since then she has gone from strength to strength, progressing to Senior Care Assistant, then CHAP and now Unit Manager and all by the age of 23.  Bailey was nominated for her tenacity, positivity and enthusiasm and ‘100% dedication’ to residents at the home and she thoroughly deserves this recognition.”

On receiving the award, Bailey said:

“I was thrilled when I found out I had been nominated for an award, and surprised and delighted to have been chosen as the winner. The CHAP qualification was a great opportunity for me to enhance my skills to better serve our residents and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to progress their career in care.”

Congratulations Bailey from everyone at Oak Tree Care Home and Four Seasons Health Care on a fantastic and well-deserved achievement!
