Staff and residents Grace and Min from Osborne Court Care Home in Bristol were delighted to be invited to a live radio show hosted by BBC Radio Bristol to celebrate the success of their appeal in aid of Alive Activities.
Osborne Court has been taking part in an inter-generational project organised by Alive Activities, which has paired them with nearby Aston Vale primary school. The school's headteacher talked about the benefits of the project for the children taking part - including building confidence, developing communication skills and genuinely making a difference in the community.
Resident Grace then took the mic, and had people all around the room welling up as she explained how the visits made her feel, saying:
"I really do love them coming in. We look forward to it. We'd love them to come every day and we know they can't but they come once or twice a week and we love it." PAL Heidi was also interviewed and praised the initiative.
The full broadcast was 3 hours long - have a listen here from 1:40:25 to 1:44:44 to hear all about the project.
