Hallgarth Care Home in Durham had the pleasure of welcoming singer Katie West for an afternoon of singalong tunes and requests.
There was a tribute to Doris Dat and a whole load of requests including songs by Jim Reeves, Al Jolson and Shirley Bassey, and residents loved hearing their choices performed - just like a request show on the radio!
Katie also brought along her canine friend Mr Darcy, who is a pat dog. He left the singing to Katie but was happy to work the room to meet everyone and enjoy a stroke. Residents agreed they wouldn't tell their regular pat dog Malpache, who visits every Tuesday in case he gets jealous. He's still their main man despite the efforts of the charming Mr Darcy!
