Walking for a cure for Parkinsons at Highfield Hall

Susan, a Domestic Assistant who has worked at Highfield Hall Care Home in Haslingden for the past seven years, and her partner Michael will be taking part in the Calder Vale Valley Walk on June 23rd in Rossendale, Lancashire to raise awareness and appeal for support for the fight to beat Parkinson’s.

The walk is 15 miles and one of 25 events across the UK aiming to raise over £6,000,000 for Parkinson’s UK, pioneering research to find better treatment and a cure for the condition.

Susan’s partner was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2012.  She explained that walking helps his symptoms and they go walking for 3 miles every day, explaining:

“Michael's tremor can sometimes make things a little difficult and the lack of sleep makes him weary as he is up and down a lot throughout the night.

"I love the thought that everyone is walking for the same conclusion - to find a cure - and I am very proud of that, it means everything to me to help raise awareness and find a cure”.

Good luck Susan and Michael from everyone at Four Seasons Health Care.
