Spiritual resources, dates, songs, worship and spiritual enrichment in the time of Coronavirus
Just because you can't get out to join a local service or in the case of many care home residents, you are not able to enjoy your usual spiritual service in your care home, doesnt mean that you can't enjoy services and Easter traditional music, psalms and hymns. To help our care homes and families who may be isolated during Holy Week, we have complied some key dates and resources available online to celebrate the important spiritual time of Easter, including live streamed services, music and readings and radio services.
Good Friday 10th April 2020
BBC Radio 2 at 8pm Dan Walker presents At the foot of the Cross - with spiritual songs and music to mark the start of Easter
Saturday 12th April 2020
Saturday 7pm and available afterwards on iPlayer - Easter music and readings from the Chapel of King's College, Cambridge
Easter Sunday (Easter Day) 13th April 2020
Easter Sunday 8am - on all 39 BBC local radio services, Cardinal Nichols will be leading an Easter Sunday Service.
Easter Sunday - 8.10am Christ is Risen! The Archbishop of Canterbury's Easter Message and an intimate communion service from his own kitchen at Lambeth Palace.
BBC One 11am - Urbi et Orbi will show Pope Francis deliver his Easter Message and Blessing live from Rome
Easter edition of Sunday Worship on BBC One at 11.25am airs an Easter service coming from Bangor Cathedral in north Wales, led by the Dean of Bangor, the Very Reverend Kathy Jones
BBC Radio 4 1.30-2pm Three Vicars Talking is back for an Easter special. The programme brings together the Reverends Richard Coles, Kate Bottley and Giles Fraser to swap curate shoptalk. Easter is the busiest time of the Church’s year - from Ash Wednesday through to the Resurrection, these three vicars share their stories and experiences.
BBC Radio 3 - Choral Evensong at 3pm from Worcester Cathedral with Psalms, Hymns and Organ Voluntary.

Popular Psalms and readings at Easter
Easter is a time of celebration and joy. This season is fifty days in length leading from Easter (Resurrection) Sunday to Pentecost Sunday. The worship of this season calls attention to the resurrection of Christ, his post-resurrection appearances, his ascension into heaven, and the preparation of his disciples to witness to his kingdom.
