Hertfordshire home kick-starts its festive activities
The 1st December marks the beginning of the countdown to Christmas!
To celebrate this special time of year we’re spreading some joy with our ‘Winter Warmers’ – a series of heart-warming stories from our homes shared daily in true advent-calendar style.
The first of our stories is from Gosmore Care Home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire where everyone is starting to feel festive.
Residents enjoyed decorating woollen snowmen each complete with a knitted hat, scarf, coloured pom-poms and googley eyes, with relatives visiting the home joining in the craft making too.
The super cute snowmen will be sold at the Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 8th December which promises to be a fun-filled afternoon with festive stalls, seasonal refreshments including mulled wine, mince pies and children’s treats, a Santa’s Grotto and a fabulous raffle with Christmas goodies and hampers to be won.
Resident Alice said "It was lovely, I enjoyed making the snowmen and the scarves were lots of nice different colours. It reminded me of Christmas at home with my family and all the lovely memories I shared with them."
Visitors from the local community are welcome to come along and join in the fun too and there is plenty of free parking.
