Four Seasons Health Care, the UK's largest independent elderly and specialist care provider, which is owned by Terra Firma a leading private equity firm, has appointed Tim Hammond as Chief Executive Officer of its dementia and nursing care business. This business comprises a network of over 370 care homes across the UK.
Tim Hammond is currently Chief Executive of Elior UK, the contract caterer,which operates over 600 restaurants. Previously he was Managing Director of Barchester Healthcare. His career has also included senior management positions at Unilever, the consumer goods manufacturer; McKinsey & Co, management consultants and Whitbread, the hospitality group, where he was Managing Director of TGI Friday's. He is a Trustee of Age UK and a member of The Malnutrition Task Force, a group of experts to address the problem of preventable malnutrition in older people.
He is expected to take up his new position with Four Seasons during the second quarter of the year.

Tim Hammond has delivered a successful growth strategy at Elior UK over the past three years, driven by quality service. It was the first contract caterer to introduce a national daily satisfaction measurement, with scores rising from 77% to 88% and client retention rates rising to circa 95%. This was underpinned by well trained and motivated staff, with Elior being recognised as one of the "Sunday Times Top 25 Best Big Companies To Work For" along with awards for its employee development from Training Journal and Personnel Today. Tim Hammond will be succeeded as Chief Executive of Elior by Catherine Roe, who is a member of the company's successful Leadership Team.
