Welcome to The Lodge (Killamarsh) Care Home
The Lodge is a large and modern purpose-built home in the village of Killamarsh, Derbyshire.
Here we provide excellent quality care around the clock, including general nursing, residential care, support with everyday living, and specialised nursing and residential care for people with dementia. We provide respite care to give home carers a much needed break, and a day-care service is also available.
Residents pursue their hobbies in our communal and quiet lounges - watching TV or perhaps listening to music or reading. They also enjoy our landscaped garden with a patio area and colourful raised flower beds. We even have a tea room where people can relax and chat.
All these spaces are used for relaxing and socialising in, and are great for spending time in with friends and families when they visit.
Life at The Lodge (Killamarsh) Care Home
Our dedicated activities coordinator ensures we have a full and varied calendar. We often have professional entertainers perform for residents, and there's always something going on, from quizzes to hand massages and dominoes to karaoke.
We arrange special meal nights, such as cheese-and-wine evenings, when we invite relatives and friends to come along. We also make regular outings to local attractions including Rother Valley Country Park.
As supporters of the UK National Dementia Strategy we help ensure key life skills are maintained, building purpose and providing nurture for those with dementia. We organise group and individual activities, but in our experience it's the one-to-one sessions that people find most calming and rewarding.
Mealtimes are an enjoyable and sociable part of the day. Each dining area has tables laid with fresh flowers and linen, and our menus are displayed to show the choices available. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are provided 24 hours a day.
We have highly nutritious and varied menus, and cater for all dietary and cultural needs. All food is prepared using fresh ingredients every day in our kitchens. Depending on how they feel, each resident can choose to have their meals in their own room, or in our dining room. We encourage friends and family to join us for meals or afternoon tea any time.
I feel at home when I visit my mother and feel confident that she is being well looked after, I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else.
The manager will always spend time taking to you and will help you with any problems you have. I would recommend the home to anyone
Excellent communications on progress and condition. The staff are very friendly and my mum is content.
I can walk in to the Home and feel comfortable. Everybody is always so friendly. It just feels like going to my mums house and I don't worry about going home.
The food is very good and if there is nothing on the menu I like an alternative is always offered. There are snacks and drinks available whenever I want one.
I am always informed of any changes to my mothers care or condition. Its gives me great peace of mind to know she is well cared for
The number and variety of activities provided by the home is excellent.
I don't know how to thank you all enough for the wonderful way in which you cared for my Dad. You made him feel special and loved. You made him happy.

Four Seasons Health Care picked up three accolades on Tuesday 5th December 2017 at the Training Journal (TJ) Awards. Winning three categories meant that Four Seasons Health Care led the way, as they were the only organisation to win in multiple categories.
Who were the winners?
The Dementia Care Framework won the ‘Best Change Management Programme’, which is a fantastic achievement and further highlights the positive impact this is having on the lives of people living in Four Seasons homes with dementia.
The Judges commented: “We recognise Four Health Care work in the field of dementia care as innovative and thorough in its approach, being both effective and transformative. It had a bold vision that was well executed in a challenging environment.”
The Care Home Nursing Journal (CNJ), Four Seasons’ very own internal publication to develop nurse knowledge and share best practice won its category of ‘Best Organisational Development Programme'.
The Judges commented: “The design of this intervention, which on the surface appears very simple, completely meets the needs of the organisation and has had significant impact. A particular strength was that Four Seasons Health Care decided to make these resources freely available to anyone, making the impact even greater and is improving healthcare outcomes in care homes everywhere.”
Finally, Louise Morris the Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP) Lead won the main award of the night and was crowned the ‘Learning and Development Professional of the Year’.
The Judges stated: “Louise has had a transformational impact, not only on the learning and development of staff at Four Seasons Health Care, but also on the well-being of residents. Through a review of an existing programme, Louise drove design and improvement which has had significant benefits through improved care, staff practice and confidence and commitment to their work and professional development.”
Congratulations to everyone on this fantastic achievement!
